Signed by Denise DeShaw How is OCSD run? The board comprises volunteers who put in their time and commitment to work about 2 to 8 hours per week, pending their availability. The board members, many of whom have other work (part-time, full-time, or their own businesses), share a common passion: advocating for a vision of a Deaf-inclusive society, raising awareness, promoting Deaf culture and art, heritage, and community sign language education. The board meets once a month. The meetings are online and usually last about two hours. They discuss strategy, goals, and plans and empower each other to complete the process through unity. Every contribution helps push the OCSD forward, uplifting the Deaf community across Ontario and positively impacting the future. The board welcomes curious and motivated individuals wanting to learn OCSDβs leadership tools and skills, gain experience, and face challenges. Success is part of the process. If you want to get involved, they welcome you!
