The Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf (OCSD) is dedicated to celebrating Deaf culture, sign languages, and fostering community connections. Since 1974, we've worked to bridge cultures, preserve heritage, and empower families through sign language.

We’re proud to train ASL instructors, promote the arts, and connect with Deaf and signing individuals across Ontario. Together, we’re building an inclusive future!

The Ontario Cultural Society of the Deaf (OCSD) is all about celebrating Deaf culture, sign language, and community. We also love learning from other sign language users and cultures, especially those who have moved to Canada, which helps us connect with diverse communities. Our goal is to build understanding between cultures, honor the Deaf community, and preserve our cultural heritage. Since we started in 1980, we've focused on helping Deaf children and their families connect better and encouraging the study of American Sign Language (ASL), Langue des signes du Québec (LSQ), and Indigenous Sign Languages (ISL). We train ASL instructors to teach and empower the community. We also support Deaf people in the arts, drama, and literature. All of this is made possible by our amazing Deaf and signing members and a passionate volunteer Board of Directors.
